fairechild Book Report | Volume 13 | Grandma's House

Name of Book: Grandma's House

Year Published: 2015

Words and Pictures by: Alice Melvin

What is the main topic of the book?:

This wonderfully illustrated book which Melvin wrote for her own Grandma features peak-a-boo holes to pages beneath and lift the flap surprises. This book starts off with ‘Often after school I go to Grandma’s house where everything is different but always stays the same…’ The illustrations featuring the rooms of Grandma’s house are familiar and beloved. Old china, rocking chairs, patchwork quilts on beds and family photos fill the scenes as the little girl explores each room in search for her Grandma. A lovely book.
